Overview

We are committed to creating positive, lasting change for patients, communities, and the planet. Through a powerful ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework, we aim to make meaningful impact, delivering value to all stakeholders, while advancing both human and planetary health.

At Biocon Biologics, responsibility is woven into every aspect of our mission to make healthcare accessible. We recognize the profound connection between human and planetary health, driving us to create sustainable solutions that benefit both. Our strategic focus on biosimilars expands access to life-saving treatments for millions of patients worldwide, while our commitment to environmental stewardship ensures we reduce greenhouse gas emissions, transition to renewable energy, and promote responsible sourcing and recycling. We also prioritize fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace, where diverse perspectives come together to innovate and advance our shared goals. Together, these efforts define our holistic approach to responsible business and our commitment to a healthier, more sustainable future for all.
ESG is pivotal to what we do, how we work and what we deliver. By committing to integrity, setting clear objectives, identifying and assessing risks, having mitigation measures and implementing plans, and continually evaluating our effectiveness, we aim to drive sustainable long-term value and competitive advantage for us and our stakeholders, while seeking to fulfill our ESG commitments.

Our ESG strategy is led from the top, with oversight and guidance provided by our Board of Directors through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & ESG Committee. This committee’s role is to monitor and enhance our ESG initiatives, embedding sustainable, responsible practices across the organization, ensuring we uphold a culture of transparency, accountability, and sustainable progress, reinforcing our commitment to responsible growth in healthcare.

Biocon Biologics’ CSR activities and ESG Roadmap are governed by a Board-constituted CSR & ESG Committee. The committee is chaired by Peter Piot, and its members include Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Shreehas Tambe, Nivruti Rai and Thomas Roberts. The primary responsibilities of committee members include:

  • Oversee our ESG program, strategy, initiatives, execution and disclosures
  • Identify areas of CSR activities, their implementation and the adoption of an Annual Action Plan
  • Ensure that CSR & ESG activities and plans are in line with the business, and mobilize resources and expertise for the initiatives
